YAMI GAUTAM IN BOLLYWOOD
She is the new Fair & Lovely girl seen in every ad of the product, and now Yami Gautam is seen on silver screen in the small-budget film Vicky Donor. So, what Yami gets to play in her first Hindi filStarring the popular VJ Ayushmann Khurrana, the movie is about a sperm donor, and Yami Gautam plays the love interest of the hero. While the hero is a Punjabi boy, Yami is a Bengali girl. In the trailers of the film, you must have noticed Ayushmann Khurrana asking Yami, tussi bong ho?. However, in reality, Yami too is from a Punjabi family like Ayushmann.
The 25-year-old actress hails from Chandigarh, and to prepare for the role of a Bong girl, she watched films starring Konkona Sen Sharma, and other Bengali actresses, to understand their body language, spunk, and attitude, quite typical of Bengali girls.
Though Yami Gautam started off with TV and starred in two serials, Chand Ke Paar Chalo and Yeh Pyaar Na Hoga Kam, she wasn’t happy with the kind of work she was doing in the serials. So the girl stopped doing daily soaps, but continued doing ads. Yami is seen in various ads, and was noticed by the director Shoojit Sircar in one of her ads.
Yami is also game for south films and has made her presence felt in Kannada film Ullasa Utsaha and Telugu film Nuvvila. We wish her luck for her first film Vicky Donor
